With over a decade of professional experience across social services, juvenile justice, public policy, and community-based work, James has led and supported initiatives focused on strengthening organizational capacity and improving service delivery. Raised in Caruthersville, Missouri, and having spent more than a decade working in rural Arkansas, he brings firsthand knowledge of the operational and structural challenges faced by communities of varying sizes and contexts.

Professional Experience & Expertise

At the Annie E. Casey Foundation, James supported child welfare and juvenile justice reform efforts, working with public agencies to strengthen decision-making processes and improve outcomes through data-informed strategies and stakeholder engagement.

Previously, at MERS Goodwill, he contributed to the development of workforce and skill-building programs designed to prepare young people for career-connected learning and employment pathways.

His work with Arkansas Early Learning included leadership roles in community partnerships and program compliance, supporting early childhood initiatives and helping ensure families had access to quality services and resources.
